Engagement and performance

The figure that surprises most is not how many people are disengaged, but who disengaged first: the managers.

20%

of workers worldwide are engaged at work, the lowest level since 2020.

Gallup, State of the Global Workplace · 2025 ↗

27% → 22%

Onboarding

This is the stretch of the cycle with the most folklore and the least verifiable data. These two hold up; many of the ones going around do not.

Frequently asked questions

Where do these figures come from?

Each one links to the study that measured it. None comes from an aggregator or from an article citing another article: if the original source cannot be opened, the figure does not go on this page.

Why are some figures from earlier years?

Because the original study is from that year and nobody has measured it again. We would rather show the real year than repeat an old figure as if it were current, which is what almost everyone does.

Can I cite this data?

Yes, and you are better off citing the original source than this page: the link sits next to every figure. Linking to us helps, but what gives you authority is the study.

How often is it updated?

Every time a new edition of one of these studies comes out. If a source stops being published, the figure comes off the page instead of being left without a link.

Why is there a Latin America section?

Because almost no collection of HR statistics has one, and talent decisions in Mexico and Colombia look nothing like those in the United States when more than half of employment is informal.
